Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American-Canadian artist and singer. Over 20 albums have been released by her. The music of DiFranco has been described as folk-rock as well as alternative rock, but it has additional influence from hip beat and jazz. Ani Difranco is recognized as an icon of music that is feminist. In 1990, she was among the first to establish her own independent record label. Although she's known by the name of Little Peoplesinger, she's collaborated with a variety of musicians and artists, from Pete Seeger through Chuck D up to Prince. She lives in New Orleans. DiFranco was a graduate at the age of 16, from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts High School, began taking classes at Buffalo State College.
