Niykee's personal highlights include getting selected to be part of Snoop at the YouTube Brandcast, in May 2013 and composing songs, despite the turbulence of the past few years. Being a magnet for producers, Niykee constantly sifts through the numerous beats being sent to her. She finds that most are a source of new songs. It's only after five minutes when I'm able to determine whether a beat is worth it. Then I am able to see the concept of a whole song within my head, and then I start writing. My guitar sits on the back of my porch and I'll let my thoughts flow. It's usually done within 30 minutes. Niykee says that as she matures as a singer-songwriter and musician, her memories of her childhood are an inspiratoin. Niykee says that, even when she is not writing about the things which have actually happened every ache through her childhood and losing her younger sister finds its way into the music. The loss of my sister as well as my childhood influence the music that I compose. It is important for me to find a deeper purpose to what I do.
